Introduction to Tableau Workshop: Visualizing data can help reveal insights that are difficult to observe from the data alone, surface errors and tell a meaningful story to a wide range of audiences. In the “Data Visualization with Tableau” workshop, we will visualize numeric and spatial data using a popular, user-friendly software (https://www.tableau.com/) that is freely available to students.

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

• Identify what kinds of tasks Tableau is suited to
• Explain the concept of data provenance
• Use visualizations in Tableau to make observations about a dataset
• Create a customized data visualization dashboard in Tableau
