Hello! I’m a Ph.D. student in the Department of Engineering Physics at McMaster University. I’m committed to community outreach because you really do get out what you put in. I intend to use my experience to make sure your time at Mac is nothing short of terrific! Samuel can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Julia de Lange
Julia is an M.A.Sc candidate in the School of Biomedical Engineering. Her research focuses on establishing bone fracture limits and defining injury tolerances of the human lower leg. Julia is passionate about McMaster engineering graduate students leading a balanced lifestyle, both professionally and socially. She can be reached at email@example.com
Larissa is currently a Ph.D. student in Dr. Ian Bruce’s lab working on hearing aid processing. After spending many years at McMaster during Undergraduate and Masters studies and enjoying the engineering community, she is happy to help bring that community to engineering graduate students through the EGS. Larissa can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
Mohammad is currently a Ph.D. student at McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute (MMRI), Department of Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on the development of novel adaptive PVD tool coating for machining of difficult-to-cut titanium alloys. Mohammad is very passionate about debating and teaching. He wants to share his knowledge and experience to develop the engineering community and society in general. He believes that even the tiniest experience in life teaches you something. He can be reached at email@example.com
Max did not send us a blurb, but we can confirm he’s a nice guy.
Evan also didn’t send us a blurb, but we can confirm he’s also a nice guy.

Matt is a student in the Department of Engineering Physics. He can be reached at his email.
Katie is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil Engineering.
Melih is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He’s also an awesome photographer who makes anyone he touches photogenic.
Connor is currently an M.A.Sc. candidate in the Department of Engineering Physics, where he previously dwelt during his undergrad years. His research involves the application of focused ion beam technology to silicon photonics, and his interests include engaging in musical pastimes, reading, and being reachable at email@example.com
Farheen Fatima Ahmed
Elliot is a student in the Department of Materials Engineering.
Martin obtained his bachelor’s in electrical and biomedical engineering from McMaster University in 2011. After graduation, he spent a few years working as a technician and a control systems engineer for Rowan Companies Inc. Through his position at Rowan, he was exposed to many different working conditions, obtaining hands-on experience in the electrical field, all while having the opportunity to work in the UK, Holland, Norway and the USA. Not forgetting his true passion for medicine, he spent his spare time volunteering at a small clinic in Texas where he learned about medical tests and point of care instrumentation. Currently, Martin is pursuing his master’s degree in biomedical engineering at the Didar lab. His main focus includes early detection instrumentation, including lab-on-chip technology, microfluidics, and biosensors. His current project involves developing novel coatings on gold sheet biosensors to reduce non-specific adhesion. Outside of his academic life, Martin enjoys traveling, learning about other cultures and languages, training in the Brazilian martial art of capoeira and building electronics.
Alireza is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Biomedical Engineering, in Dr. Ravi Selvaganapathy’s group. He has been developing bio fabrication-based techniques to make 3D models of human tissues that can be used as valuable tools in mechanistic studies. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
I am currently a master student in Manufacturing Engineering and just graduated from Electrical & Biomedical Engineering this year. Happy to stay in Engineering and at Mac. I would love to help EGS and students in Engineering to create a better community!
